: Historically, Apistos is used in the New Testament to describe someone "without faith" or "unbelieving".

: The name was also used in Damien Hirst’s 2017 exhibition "Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable," where a fictional ancient ship named Apistos (the Unbelievable) was said to have carried a vast lost treasure.

The series is a Greek adaptation (often broadcast or subtitled in Greek) of the Turkish drama (itself based on the BBC series Doctor Foster ).
