The core concept of Il Suono Del Tempo (The Sound of Time) was the "philological concert". PFM aimed to rediscover their roots by performing their classic 1970s material with modern energy and instruments while remaining strictly faithful to the original arrangements and tracklists. These recordings were primarily captured during a high-profile two-day residency at Tokyo's Shibuya Duo Music Exchange and Dome City Hall in May 2014.
