Soon, Eloise begins to experience vivid dreams where she is transported to 1966. In this world, she inhabits or observes Sandie, a confident and aspiring singer. Sandie enters the glamorous nightlife of Soho, meeting a charismatic manager named Jack, who promises to make her a star. Eloise is initially enchanted, even changing her own appearance to mimic Sandie’s style.

However, the glamour quickly turns into a nightmare. Sandie’s dreams of stardom are crushed as Jack exploits and pimps her out to a series of lecherous men. The story reaches a climax when Ms. Collins reveals she is the elderly Sandie. After a final, violent confrontation and a devastating fire that consumes the house, Eloise narrowly escapes with the help of her friend John. Sandie chooses to stay and perish with her past.
