The mission goes sideways when an unidentified group in vehicles ambushes the trio. Gunfire erupts, forcing them to split up. Daryl, riding his motorcycle, manages to lead his pursuers into a dense, burned-out section of the forest. Sasha and Abraham, meanwhile, crash their car but manage to take out their attackers.

As the three of them drive the truck back toward Alexandria, Daryl tries to reach Rick on the radio. He hears no response—only a single, chilling word crackling through the static:

The victory is short-lived. While investigating a burned-out greenhouse, Tina is bitten by walkers hidden under the debris and dies. As Daryl helps Dwight and Sherry bury her, he makes them an offer: come back to Alexandria and join a real community.

Daryl, wounded and separated from his bike, wanders into a charred wasteland of a forest. He is suddenly captured by a trio of survivors: a man named , and two women, Sherry and Tina.

Daryl eventually finds a hidden fuel truck and makes his way back to the town where Sasha and Abraham are waiting.

However, the "accountability" of the title takes a dark turn. Instead of accepting the help, Dwight and Sherry pull a gun on Daryl. They steal his motorcycle and his iconic crossbow, leaving him alone in the woods with nothing but a half-empty water bottle. 4. Reconciliation and a Dark Omen
